As soon as the car entered the Northwolf pack's territory, I lifted the shades and looked out.The deep blue sky here was filled with stars. It was much brighter and clearer than the sky over the Blackstone pack too.In the distance, snow-capped mountains glowed with a silver hue under the moonlight. The black shadows of the pine forests stretched and rolled along the mountain ridges, like the spine of the earth.I gently squeezed Soren's hand. That made him look over, and I grinned at him.Through the window, a breeze carrying the fresh scent of pine resin blew in and lifted the ends of my hair. Soren reached out and tucked the loose strands behind my ear, his grazing fingertips leaving a faint, ticklish sensation."Are you tired? We're almost there. You can rest well once we get home," he said softly. His fingertips lingered by my ear, emitting warmth.I shook my head and sank deeper into his embrace. "I'm not tired. I want to look at the stars here a little longer."He smiled
