Ayana Taketatsu’s portrayal of Serafall is sheer brilliance. She balances the character’s whimsical side—like her obsession with magical girls—with the underlying danger of a Maou. Taketatsu’s range is insane; one second she’s giggling about 'Mikan-chan,' the next she’s exuding chilling authority.
I’ve been a fan since her Suguha in 'SAO,' but Serafall might be my favorite role of hers now. The way she leans into the absurdity while keeping the character grounded is masterful. Every line feels like a performance within a performance, which fits Serafall’s theatrical personality perfectly.
Ayana Taketatsu voices Serafall, and honestly, she's a perfect fit. Her ability to flip between bubbly and terrifying is what makes Serafall such a fun character. I first noticed Taketatsu as Yui in 'Sword Art Online,' so hearing her as a mischievous Devil was a delightful surprise. The way she delivers lines with that singsong tone—it’s like she’s always one step away from chaos. Seriously, her performance is half the reason I rewatch Serafall’s scenes!
Oh, Taketatsu Ayana absolutely *owns* this role. Serafall’s voice is so distinct—high-pitched but with this sly undertone that hints at her power. It’s like she’s always teasing the audience. I adore how Taketatsu plays up the magical girl bit; it’s hilarious but also weirdly endearing. After hearing her as Leviathan, I went back and binged her other roles—she’s just that good.
Serafall Leviathan's voice in the anime is brought to life by the talented Ayana Taketatsu! Her performance is absolutely iconic—she captures Serafall's playful yet sinister energy perfectly. Taketatsu has voiced so many memorable characters, like Kirino from 'Oreimo' and Kotori from 'Date A Live', so it's no surprise she nailed this role too.
I love how she switches between Serafall's cutesy, magical girl persona and her more intimidating moments as a Devil. It adds so much depth to the character. Taketatsu's voice work is a big part of why Serafall stands out in 'High School DxD' for me. Every time she says 'Mikan-chan,' I can't help but grin!
It’s Ayana Taketatsu! She’s got this knack for roles that mix cuteness with a hint of menace, and Serafall is no exception. I’ve followed her work since 'K-On!' (she played Azusa), and hearing her as Leviathan was a blast. That magical girl schtick? Pure gold. Taketatsu’s voice just oozes personality, making every scene she’s in unforgettable.

Favored by fortune and against all odds, I, as a descendant of the Carp Clan, conceive.
To keep me safe during my pregnancy, Tharion hides me away in a remote, deserted palace, guarded in secret by his Nightguards.
But just as I am about to give birth, I unexpectedly crossed paths with the Vixen Consort, Lyra Swifttail, who wanders into the Forsaken Wing by mistake.
She swishes her tail playfully, eyes sparkling with amusement as she looks at my round belly. Her smile is utterly captivating.
"I didn't expect to find a little carp having an affair here…"
With a spell, she drags me away, forcing me into my true form. Then, one by one, she scrapes the scales from my body until I am raw and bleeding.
She has her catfolk attendant pour scalding oil over my wounds and orders guards to violate me until I am left broken like a rag.
When I finally lose consciousness, she slashes me open with a claw and rips the stillborn child from my womb. She presents it with both hands to Tharion, who has just come to visit.
She says, "Your Majesty, what perfect timing. I caught a carp sneaking around the Forsaken Wing. This is her illegitimate child!"
Leviathan has a fantastic voice cast that really brings the characters to life! I’m particularly fond of the sweet, relatable voice of the main character, who is brought to life by the talented voice actress Yoshino Nanjo. She does such an amazing job capturing the character's emotions, making it hard not to root for her through every twist of the plot. On the other hand, the antagonist, voiced by the charismatic Takahiro Sakurai, adds a layer of complexity that really enriches the story. His deep, resonant voice gives the character a mysterious edge that kept me on the edge of my seat!
Yet, what I find fascinating is how the supporting characters, like the quirky sidekick voiced by Inori Minase, sprinkle humor and charm throughout the episodes. It’s a well-balanced ensemble that elevates the whole series. Whenever the series plays, I can't help but feel that the casting decisions were spot on; every actor fits their role like a glove. Listening to the duo of Nanjo and Sakurai is truly a treat, and it makes the watching experience feel like a roller coaster full of thrills and suspense.
Kaiser Titan's voice in the anime is brought to life by the talented Hiroshi Kamiya. You might recognize his voice from other iconic roles like Levi in 'Attack on Titan' or Izaya Orihara in 'Durarara!!'. Kamiya has this incredible ability to balance menace and charisma, which makes Kaiser Titan feel both terrifying and oddly captivating.
I’ve followed Kamiya’s work for years, and his range always blows me away. From snarky antiheroes to chilling villains, he nails every role. Kaiser Titan’s voice has this eerie, almost hypnotic quality that adds so much depth to the character. It’s no surprise fans rave about his performance—it’s pure vocal artistry.
Ah, the chaotic and adorable Serafall Leviathan! Yes, she does make an appearance in 'High School DxD Hero', and honestly, it’s one of those moments that just lights up the screen. For those who might not remember her immediately, Serafall is one of the Four Great Satans, representing Leviathan, and she’s also Sirzechs’ younger sister. Her bubbly, almost magical girl-esque personality is such a fun contrast to her terrifying title, and she brings this energy to every scene she’s in during 'Hero'. I love how her character design leans into the whole 'cute but deadly' trope—frilly dresses, a wand, and all. It’s like the creators wanted to remind us that power doesn’t always have to look serious.
In 'High School DxD Hero', Serafall’s role isn’t just for show, either. Without spoiling too much, she gets involved in some of the bigger political and strategic moves happening in the underworld. Her interactions with other characters, especially Sona Sitri, her little sister, add layers to both their personalities. It’s sweet how protective she is, even if her methods are... let’s say, extra. The way she pops up in the middle of tense moments with her signature catchphrase ('M~ofu m~ofu!') is just gold. If you’re a fan of the series, her scenes are definitely worth revisiting—they’re a mix of comedy, heart, and a reminder that even the most powerful beings can have a quirky side.
