Alex chuckled, his tone light despite the request. I hesitated, my mind still preoccupied with thoughts of Amelia and her siblings, but seeing Sarah in that state made me reconsider. "Sure, Alex. I'll take her home," I agreed, realizing I couldn't just leave her stranded. Alex clapped me on the back appreciatively, passing Sarah over to me with a cheerful "Thanks, man! You're a lifesaver!" As I guided Sarah towards my car, I couldn't shake off the persistent worry about Amelia. The next morning, Amy came to help me with my makeup as usual. As soon as he came in, he asked, "Did you go to the barbecue party yesterday? Why didn't I see you there?" "Yes, we did.
