The Lust Cursed Luna
I kept my silence, but the hurt had cut deep.
“Chelsea, hold on," Alastair's whisper was filled with caution as he slowed the horse down, his ears attuned to the strange sound. It couldn't be werewolves roaming in search of food; there weren't many animals in this forest, and I was certain none of his kind would harm us. I nodded quickly, and he dismounted from the horse while keeping his gaze fixed on the source of the noise.
He approached the forest lowland with deliberate, careful steps, parting the tall grasses with his movements. Yet, to our eyes, there was nothing to be seen. Undoubtedly, nothing was there. Abruptly, the sound ceased.
