Outside, the night sky glowed with the crimson light of a full wolf moon.
"That's not right," I muttered, frowning. My heart skipped a beat. It was too early for the full wolf moon. It shouldn't be rising yet.
I looked back at her, the woman who shouldn't even be here, her tears carving paths down her cheeks, her eyes locked onto mine, silently begging. How could she look so beautiful, even stripped of the finery of her rank, locked in this miserable place? And why, for the life of me, had the Alpha of the West thrown her into this pit?
