“Not just a human.” I stepped forward, keeping the knife between us. “A hunter.”
His lips curled into a sneer as he took a step toward me, his movements slow and deliberate. “You must be Riley’s pet.” His eyes raked over me, his grin widening. “I can smell him all over you. Leave it to Riley to fuck up this bad. A human? And not just any human—a hunter?” He barked a laugh.
“Call it off.” My voice was steady, though every muscle in my body was coiled tight. “Whatever you’re planning to do to him, end it. I heard you, Liam. You killed Marcus, not Riley.”
