How did it get there? Rain stared down at the rose she had found by her bedside the second the woke up. The scent drifting in the air and causing her to smile. It reminded her of her time in the cabin and Rain didn’t realize how much she missed waking up to the comforting scent of roses until this one was brought to her. Rain silently wondered with a smile, would they still let her go back to the cabin or did Alexander plan to have her stay in the mansion permanently?

Alina was one hundred percent certain, so certain in fact that she would bet away her soul, that her house was haunted. Sitting with an expression void of emotion, Alina rested her brown irises on the resin rose settled neatly on her nightstand amongst the dust gathered there from her constant neglect. To any person that wasn't Alina, there would be absolutely nothing amiss about the beautiful ornament staring innocently back at her. But there was something horribly wrong with the picture, something Alina had been noticing a lot with the objects residing within the smothering walls of her home; the rose wasn't where she had last put it.

He gave me a contagious toothy grin, one I immediately returned. His eyes then drifted to him, clapping him on the back. "This is Dr. Alexander Wood, my good friend. Came here for some books." I nodded. "Wood, this is Rosette. She's here now, so whenever you don't find me here, she's in charge." He nodded too, still looking at me. "Hello Rose, nice to see you again." He smiled down at me, and extended a hand for me to shake, the hand that wasn't holding on to the books.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN Officer Will took the call with sorrow. Grim Marie had taken her own life. She was found in the bath with expensive-smelling bubbles and a candle. She had used a razor. He wished this hadn’t surprised him. His heart felt heavy, but he tried to convince himself that at least she was at peace now, enfolded in the arms of her mother and her daughter. A third little urn lined up on the shelf, perhaps. At least the pain and misery of her hunt for The Wolf was over.

Lucas spoke through clenched teeth. " Lucas.. It's me. Rosie " She tried to touch his hand but he stepped back. " Rosie is dead! " He roared. Both Anastasia and Rosie flinched. " You saw her dead body. Didn't you? " He pointed at Daniel. " You both even attended her funeral " Daniel nodded. He was not sure what was happening. " Lucas.. I am not dead " Rosie whispered through her tears. She raised her hand to wipe them. " I am not dead, you idiots! "

He glanced at me, his eyes unsure. “What is it?” I stood up and snatched the paper from him, faster than he could blink. ‘Rose Blackwood is dead. Her grave is at Kennedy Cemetery. Stop wasting your time.” The paper slipped from my hands and dropped to the ground, just like my hopes.

Then moved. I watched in horror. One rose. Then another. Then ten more. Broken bodies climbed back to their feet. Empty eyes glowing with corrupted power. The dead were rising. Again. And Elias— Elias smiled. As though he had been expecting me.

Rose stood in a dim hospital corridor. The air smelled sterile, but the floor beneath her feet was wrong, dark, slick, reflecting her like a broken mirror. At the end of the hallway, she saw a hospital bed. Alissa laid there unmoving. Rose’s chest tightened. “No… she’s alive.” “You’re too late.” The voice came from behind. Rose immediately turned and froze when she saw it was her. She looked pale, lifeless, and hollow. Seeing the confused look on her face, her dead self smiled faintly. “You always were.”

"How is that even possible? Rose is dead, Kayla." She shook her head, her brows bunched in her confusion. "I don't know, but I saw her just as I'm seeing you now. Didn't that Warrior man's girlfriend come back from the dead? Maybe this is Rose's chance." Alex continued to stare at Kayla, sure that what she hoped for was far from the truth. He wasn't sure how the Warrior's girlfriend came back to life, but he knew he saw Rose buried, and had performed the Recapturing Ceremony to draw her power into themselves. Regardless of what Kayla saw, Rose Tillery remained dead. Still, how was he to explain what she witnessed? A vision? Hallucination? Things just weren't making sense. He reached out and

Rose retorted, feeling even more useless. "Do you have any idea of who killed Ashley?" Rebecca asked again and Rose slowly nodded her head. "It was a female. I couldn't see her face but her build was perfect and the same as Raven's and Drexa's together." Rebecca said nothing and out of fear that Rebecca didn't believe her, Rose exposed her wrist and moved it towards Rebecca's lips. "Feed on me and go through my memory." She offered. Hesitantly, Rebecca grabbed her hand and sank her fangs in it.
