She shrugged, “You got the body.” She remarked, “It would be an extra gift that’ll keep his jaw on the ground.” Her brow moved up, “Add some strawberries and wine. I think I’d do ya too.” Her words weren’t wrong… I smiled at her until I heard my phone ring. I sighed, looking down at the phone. More work. I pulled it up, seeing it was my manager. I put it to my ear, “Hello? Oliver, what’s up?”

I can tell she is angry or worried about something, given how she is looking at the few children who are playing behind the store area we were currently at, I guess her anger was directed at the city. Who will blame her though? The children appearance says it all. Their thin shrivelled bodies move with such slow pace as one throws a pebble into a little hole the others must have made, the movement is almost painful. Another goes to inspect the throw, rubbing his flat chest that holds his ribs which are almost bulging out of his skin, as he moves with the same slow space as the others. Lorenzo angrily paced around his office his mind clouded in thoughts. "So basically someone tempered with the security?" He asked Angelo, who was nervously sitting in front of him. "Yes." Angelo replied. Lorenzo chuckled shaking his head, "Now, who would be so fucking stupid to do that?" He asked. Angelo gulped. "Does it really matter, sir? I mean it happened, let's put this whole thing behind us." He laughed nervously playing with his fingers.

So I fake a smile, I'm hoping he doesn't notice. "Jeffrey hi." I try to say in the same way he called my name. I remember the last time I saw this guy I didn't want to believe in intimacy anymore. Jeffrey Clark is tall, like basketball height tall, he's white, black hair which he shaved off, green eyes and really really bad at sex.

Beep, beep, beep... Riley hit the snooze button on her phone. Five minutes later, the same annoying alarm sounded, and this time, she didn't ignore it. It was 6 A.M. and she knew she needed to shower and get ready for her breakfast date with Ethan. As she got out of bed and headed towards the bathroom, she heard her phone vibrate, so she ran over and grabbed it to see, "Good morning, beautiful. Meet me at the diner in town for 8?". She beamed and replied with a "heart emoji, see you then," text right back. She placed her phone back down and grabbed her towel, heading for the shower.

I shrug. “Okay, I like her.” she points to me and looks at Rhea. “I’m Veronica by the way. Veronica Ryan. Grade B.” “Grade?” I raise a brow, confused. “A Grade basically tells how dangerous a person is. And before you ask, the difference between A’s and B’s is that A’s have committed murder.” “But mine is asterisked?” “It’s never been given before but I’m guessing it means numerous counts of murder.” Yeah. That makes sense.

In a weak voice, I explained the situation I was facing over the phone. “Hi, this is Ariane. I wanted to let you know that I have given birth. So, I will be taking leave to focus on taking care of my babies,” I said with gratitude and hope. “Congratulations, Ariane! How are you and the babies?” asked the owner, his voice warm and caring. “Thank you so much! We are fine, but I am still feeling a little tired,” I replied with a smile, even though the phone couldn’t see my facial expression. “I will be sure to let you know when I am ready to return to work.”

All I feel is contempt. A: So you say. Zehra ignored it and started researching for more interesting information, when another message popped up. A: Ignoring won’t make me go away.
