Only now could I truly take him in. His wings—those dark feathers—had been torn and frayed by the concrete when I carried him. The black edges were ragged, uneven. His thick hair was tangled, his shirt wrinkled and torn. Towering nearly two meters tall, he loomed over me, his pitch-black eyes fixed on the sky outside the window. His face was sharply defined, every line carved with strength and masculinity. He was terrifying—and yet, unbearably beautiful.
