“Bake, cook, anything involving a stove, I just call my hotline,” she winked at him.
“Come on, let’s not keep those adorable little bunnies waiting,” she added, striding ahead and completely ignoring my presence.
Martins glanced at me, a goofy grin plastered on his face. “That’s the Angel. She’s helping fund chemo for my patients. This woman is a saint. Catch you later,” he declared before following her.
I stood there, speechless, feeling utterly deflated. She hadn’t even acknowledged me, acting as if I were invisible. Clearly, she was getting back at me for yesterday.
