You seem like someone who has spent too much time chasing their destiny. A tiny smile tightened her lips, but she remained silent. Now their issues were more serious. The sharp peaks of the Ashen Spires towered in the distance as she looked beyond the horizon. As though sensing her uncertainty, the shard pulsed softly in her backpack. As the sun began to set, the sky turned scarlet and amber, and they paused to rest. Zara discovered a safe haven behind a crooked tree, its twisted branches extending like skeletal fingers into the darker sky.

Chapter Thirty-One: Isn't it suspicious? In the living room, Shane invited Asher for a drink at his mini bar. They sat adjacent to each other on stools while Shane poured the alcohol. “What do you want?” he asked, grabbing a bottle. “Vodka,” Asher replied without hesitation. Shane glanced at him, lifting a brow. “Isn’t that too strong? You have to drive Alissa back.” There was a hint of concern in his voice, though he tried to sound nonchalant.

Narrator- Alpha Asher casually gathered Miranda's limp form in his arms, along with her fallen keys and purse. Her head naturally leaned against his chest, and the moment her hair grazed against Asher's skin, he gladly breathed in a whiff of her natural scent. She smelled like sweet ripe oranges in the summer. Asher smiled and crossed the street, towards his SUV. He walked around the passenger side only to stop in his tracks when he noticed Joshua standing against the door with his arms crossed and a knowing smirk on his lips.

“I could crawl into the mind of anyone I feel like, just as I did you, but I'm limited to yours, though.” “Thank goodness,” She said with a long sigh, “Well,” She continued, “The first time you got into my mind, it was horrifying…I don't want to talk about that else my view of you will change.” My eyes narrowed, “You mean when I came to you in the form of ash?” “Yeah, that one. How did you pull that up?” She asked,d flinging her hands in the air; she winced a little, bringing her arm down slowly. “The injected area still burns.”

Ash flinched at the end. "Adom, Look... "Ash took hold of his hand and looked at him. Adom looked broken. "I can't.. I can't do this anymore.." Adom looked at Ash in terror as he seemed like crying in the rain. "You don't understand. It's.. it is painful.."

There was something in Felan’s touch that had a calming effect on Keyne. After four hours Ashur turns in to a gas station and pulls around back. He pulled up to a mountain and honks three times. The mountain side opened, and Ashur drove in as the walls closed behind him. He parked the Cherokee and turned to wake the Keyne and Felan up with a gentle shake. “Come on, little wolves, it is time to wake up. We are switching vehicles and getting back on the road.” Ashur says to them. “If either of you need to use the restroom or stretch, now is the time to do so.” He says. Felan looks up at him and states. “We need to stay here for about an hour.” “We are because it will take me that long to pack

The grass is like stain, as I join him, letting it crept up my bare legs. "All your feelings here, as a mortal, are heightened. Everything will feel softer, harder, taste nicer, and repulsive. Right now Aspen has a few dampers on your emotions, to help with how you cope. At least that's what I assume he's up to. Remember, they never consulted me with any of this," Asher grumbles, looking out over the cliff. "My heart bleeds for you," I mutter sarcastically. Asher shakes his head at me, his eyes blazing. "I see your attitude hasn't been hindered at all. Unfortunate."

"Ash!" "Ash!" "Ash!" Xasha was pulled back to his senses when he felt a sharp pain running across his face. He instinctively held his cheek as a tear fell from his eye. His ears rang like a bell and his head was pounding like someone had installed an automatic drum.
