—AVA— The wind whipped through her hair as Ava stood at the edge of the cliff, overlooking the jagged path that would lead them straight to the Council Citadel. Below, thousands of wolves were camped. Rogue-born, bloodline defectors, and survivors of forgotten packs—all ready to march under her banner. She held the dagger of the First Queen in one hand. Her new sigil—a flaming crescent—was carved into her gauntlet. But even with an army at her back, Ava couldn’t shake the feeling.

Said the girl on the other end of the phone, who is one of my trustees in Japan. "Pavi, I need you to find all information about this person and this Logo, and when I say all, you know what I mean." I told her as I emailed her all the details. "Yeah, I know, hmmm about Argon Socherberg? Who exactly is this man? He also has a tattoo on his face, is this the new trend? This logo, it’s the same with your tattoo right?" she wondered. "Is there any pending mission there?" I asked lazily as I sat in my swivel chair, ignoring her questions.

He could sense it clearly as if her speaking to Nyx had somehow changed things. Or it could have started before her wolf had spoken to her. For a moment, he’d thought he could hear the waves crashing into the shore and smell the ocean. His eyes were wide open, and he hadn’t been trying to connect with her the way they had connected in isolation. He didn’t think Ava even knew she had done that. “What are you thinking of?” he asked. “I... We want to mark you,” Ava said. His brows shot up for a moment, and then he felt a smile stretch on his face. Vampires marked each other when they mated, not wolves. But he couldn’t help the excitement coursing through his body at her words.

"Do try to go easy on me, brother." Riven's smile was tight and polite, and didn't reach his eyes at all. "Of course." Both princes began removing their shirts, and I had to resist rolling my eyes at the chorus of sighs and giggles from some of the other girls. But my attention caught on something else, it was a tattoo over Riven's heart. A symbol I didn't recognize, it was intricate and dark, like shadows given form. As he moved to set his shirt aside, that woman from earlier who I've come to know as Viela smiled and blushed, saying something to him only they could hear that made my initial anger flare up.
