Within a few minutes I almost fought all the wolves and killed them one by one. The one that was trying to kill Cathy I grabbed it by its neck and ripped out its heart from the back. I was surprised and terrified at my own self. I was like a half beast, half human. I was looking like a terrible monster bathed in blood. Suddenly I could feel more presence around us. I growled at the direction. Cathy had returned to her human form again. She took June's body in her lap and started crying.

And underneath it— A tremor of something else. Not hope now. But the leftover memory of what he’d done to her last time. Her body remembered him. That made his blood sing with dark, violent satisfaction. The beast in him preened, curling its tail in the hollow of his ribs, whispering mine in a language made of fire and hunger. Her fear. Her defiance. Her Lust. Her erratic heartbeat. He couldn’t tell where the bond ended, and his obsession began. “Tell me,” He growled from behind her, voice thick with all the emotions he was trying—and failing—to control, “who came into this room?”

Beasty is starting to look like another being in that same body. “It was quite fun actually, fooling the guy who thinks is fooling everyone.” She briskly uttered, “Well, to be honest, I was kind of curious what a DISGRACED like you can actually do, but never did I expect things to end this way, where I actually get to shed tears.” She laughed. “I am totally impressed.” Beasty added, “You are just like misery, waiting for your prey to stumble, to breaking down before you sink your teeth on its neck," she smirked. "How daunting.”

Obsession isn’t something you choose. It chooses you. Wraps around your soul like a vice, squeezing until there’s nothing left but the sickness of wanting. It seeps into your blood, replacing logic, making you something… else. Something monstrous. And fuck… I like it the more I watch her.

“I need her to admit that I'm worth her time. I need her to admit that I'm not just a beast that feasts on lives. That I'm capable of more. I need to know that I can have her just like the other guys did.” Beck stared at me like I'd gone insane. And then he let out a gutty scoff. "You said this before and I thought you were kidding." "I wish I were." I fucking wish I were. “So in other words, you're mesmerized by her?” “Yeah, but I think it's narrowing down to obsession.” “You're an idiot, man. Geez.” He grunted out. “Why would you give her such power over you?” “I didn't! She took it. I don't know, it just happened. But I'm not in love with her. I'm not.”

The pleasant evening breeze or the mixed scent of flowers it carried didn’t hold their attention. Giselle tried to feel the bond and failed. She’d been trying for the past few weeks. “Antonio, what happens after the first shift?” She asked, curious to figure out her son’s situation. “The beast is like an entirely different personality which lives inside you. The first time it shows up it is really hard to cling to your sanity, the beast thirsts for blood and meat. It will hunt and destroy anything in its path.” Antonio sighed as he recalled his first shift.

Yet, as he turned to look at Anya, that control didn't just slip, it dissolved. The obsession was a storm he could no longer weather. His beast, a prehistoric creature of shadow and gold, roared within him with a possessive hunger that defied all logic. He had been drawn to this “assistant” by a gravitational force that felt ancient, a soul-deep attraction that eclipsed every boundary of rank, blood, and history. He felt the secrets humming beneath her porcelain skin the way her presence felt like a hauntingly familiar melody he couldn't quite name but he was too intoxicated by her scent to question the mystery.
