Crates of eggs were overturned, and food spilt across the ground. Most mothers yanked their daughters by the arms; guards shouted orders, but no one followed as boots pounded in all directions. An old man whispered as he fled past, “The Beast is hungry again.” “The Dreadborns are here!” Kaerith’s stomach clenched.

By sheer coincidence, the Flame Beast had encountered a human in the Void Stage. What astonished it even more was how young the individual appeared. Such talent was beyond the beast's experience. Without hesitation, the Flame Beast turned to flee, its massive limbs carrying it away in desperation. Adrian had grown accustomed to such behavior from these beasts, who always chose to escape when outmatched. In that sense, they weren't much different from humans. "I told you earlier—your flesh looks delicious. Why are you running?" Adrian's voice sliced through the air, his killing intent rising around him.
