He turned on the brightest solar-powered flashlight attached to the gun. There wasn't a vampire in the small lobby, but there as well wasn't a need to play hide-and-seek because he sensed them all. He even sensed two of them scrambling quietly on the wall behind him. Soon as they leaped at him, he pivoted around. The light on the gun blinded their eyes and burned their skins, making them shy away, before he pulled the trigger and they burst like balloons. The bullets weren't ordinary, they were made to burst a vampire once inside their body.

That much I knew to be true. I turned off the lights before pulling down the street. Morning was right around the corner, the soft glows of light over the horizon indicating another glorious day. It was, after all, a good day to die. I'd taken a few minutes to change into black jeans and a matching polo, an ankle holster holding my Beretta, and a loaded Glock in my hand as I walked close to the house.
