Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. I couldn’t help but wonder who she was and why Blade had decided to bring her along. They both shared words before walking towards the coffee shop. “Emily!” Blade called as he walked inside with his companion right behind him. “I’m right here,” I said waving my hands in the air to draw his attention.

Brynne’s eyes glowed brighter for a moment but she remained in place. “We’ll watch,” Blade continued. “We’ll wait. And we’ll hope you survive the last night.” Calla’s breath came fast, chest heaving. The cold air burned her lungs, but the heat between her legs refused to fade. Blade’s smirk returned. “Survive the last night, little pumpkin. Then we’ll see who owns who.” He stepped back into the shadows, shifting partially as he went. Brynne remained a moment longer, watching through the fur, before melting into the trees behind him.

The sound of shattering glass echoed through the steam-filled tunnel. One of the clones, a girl who had my face, my hair, and my height lunged at me. Her silver hand was shaped like a jagged blade. I rolled to the right, the metal tip scraping the concrete where my head had been a second before. "Hazel, watch out!" Bryan screamed. He didn't have his blue energy blade anymore, but he grabbed a heavy metal pipe from the wall. He swung it, hitting the clone in the side of the head. It didn't bleed. It just let out a hollow, metallic clink and kept coming.

“They're alive and Dan has more access to him than to Jaylen. I used to think that Ark was supposed to be Jaylen's competition, but he's not even close.” A beat of silence. Then Kross whistled low. “Other men like Jaylen? That’s either a miracle or a problem.” “It’s both,” Blade said. “But before Jaylen hears this from anyone else, he hears it from me.” Spade gave a curt nod. “Then we move.” *** They drove in silence. Blade behind the wheel, Spade riding shotgun, the others spread out in a separate car a few blocks behind. The night bled into itself, quiet streets and long shadows.

POV: Blaze Ryder "Zane, wake up! We have to move!" Blaze shook his brother’s shoulder, his russet eyes frantic as he watched Rhea’s hovering form. The ground beneath them was still trembling, a rhythmic pulsing that felt like a giant’s heartbeat. He looked up, and his blood turned to ice. Rhea’s eyes were gone. In their place were two burning voids of violet radiation, staring down at them with a terrifying, clinical indifference. "She’s not Rhea anymore, Blaze," Zane whispered, his face pale and caked in frost. "I can't feel her heartbeat. I only feel... a vacuum. She’s gone."

“We have flaming swords and the light of God… we will be just fine.” Bryden smiled and was ready to descend holding a blaster in his hand that I hadn’t noticed before. Rayna and I went ahead and began to do battle. There were flashes of light radiating from us as we battled, and I glanced Rayna’s direction she has certainly gained my moves and ability.

Blade was nearly two meters tall. His body was particularly robust and he had bulging muscles. The short-sleeved T-shirt that he wore accentuated his chest muscles, and they were big enough to rival an average woman's bosom. His bronze-colored arm muscles instilled fear in people, while his thick eyebrows and sharp eyes were brimming with might. When he arrived, he rubbed his bald head and asked Trevor in a hoarse voice, "Tell me, who do you want me to kill?"

"You didn't just love me, Jinyan. You used me to stay alive. Every time we touched, every time I felt that rush of connection... I wasn't just giving you my heart. I was giving you my life." He let out a jagged, wet breath. "I wanted to tell you... I tried to find another way. But the Father... he designed me to need you. I am Blade, Panni. And a blade has no light of its own. It only reflects what is poured into it." I felt the resonance in my blood begin to scream. It was a physical pressure behind my eyes, a heat in my palms that felt like molten lead. I was the Battery. My very existence was a power source, a reservoir of light that the Firm had spent fifteen years perfecting.

Haris was taken aback when he saw Adrian's attack. He had a deep impression of the Inferno Purgatory. It was this move that told him that Adrian’s weapons were top-notch treasures. As someone from Blade's Reach, Haris had been around weapons since childhood, particularly swords. Adrian's Divine Frost Slayer Blade was the most enigmatic weapon he had ever encountered. It seemed to possess a consciousness of its own, making it extraordinarily mysterious. As for the Hellblade, he deduced from his clashes with Adrian that it was an exceptionally rare and valuable weapon.

“For your birthday. After that he’ll return to school.” Blade was my younger brother. A twenty year old with very little control over his powers. Unlike me, Blade did not come out as part vampire. He was part wolf, part snake. Not just any snake, mind you. My brother was a Reinio snake. A powerful specie that could easily kill as they had little or no self-control. He was also a demigod because of our father.
