I rummaged through my pack for more and paused as my fingers brushed against a candle, the strange one from that shadowy shop in Drifthollow Kin.
I hesitated for a moment, recalling the merchant’s cryptic words: "This flame burns blue in the presence of a demon."
A part of me scoffed at the memory, but curiosity got the better of me. I lit it.
The candle sparked to life, its flame warm and golden, just normal and harmless.
