El stifled a groan and turned to Lucas, who looked utterly mortified. "Right, back to class, folks!" The Principle shuffled his chair back as he stood, vaguely gesturing with one arm. They filed out of the office into the main hallway, where the magnolia paint was peeling off the walls in places, revealing a pale green underneath. "Psychiatric green", El had once told her, thought to be a calming colour. Lucas took off down the hall, slamming a locker door as he went. "Well, that's just great," El grumbled.

In fact, she secretly liked the gentlemanly nature of Emmet, who has ever been respectful and well-mannered, something Nezeira admires in people. I sat back down and waited. The screen lit up, and my stomach dropped. Vanessa stood in front of it with a confident smile. "Arctic Crown. That's today's theme. Inspired by the northern lights — a gradient of opals in green, blue, and purple, arranged to mirror the way aurora moves across the night sky."

"Do you think these will work better than the blue and white?" I looked at her, wondering why she wanted my opinion. I would think I would be the last person she wanted advice from. "Well, I think it's a nice representation of Isai-I mean the Alpha's eyes and yours. A nice icy blue and gray combo…Luna." She seemed to be thinking about what I said, only responding simply, "Hmph."

Minutes fly by, maybe even more, I have no idea. But I don't stop until my wrists ache and paint manages to make its way into the beds of my fingernails. Stepping back once more, I take in the changes I’ve made. The blue has softened the intensity of the black and purple, creating some semblance of balance. The chaos I'd originally intended to portray burns bright, mixing not only with the blue strokes but also the light pink and yellow highlights pointing towards the edge of the canvas.
