"She is okay. She is still sleeping." I nodded. She sounded fine. "Where did you go last night? I looked for you." "I am at Bonnie's. She would not let me spend the night alone, but I would be going there today." She went quiet for a while. "I miss you." I chuckled. Hearing her voice again was enough to give me a little peace in this messed up life of mine. "I miss you too, Mama. Why didn't you take my calls last night?" "Bonnie took Ari and I out, and when I got home, I was tired, so I fell asleep. You didn't think I ran away, did you?"

I was finally done dressing up and I walked out of my room, descending the stairs as I walked over to mom who was seated in the living room engrossed in reading a mail on her laptop. Phew!, Being a business woman ain't easy. " Mom, am done " I announced and she hunmed in response. " Give me some few minutes, you can go eat your breakfast " Mom said and I nodded as I walked over to the dinning room. I sat down and the maids served my meal and I dig in immediately, devouring my meal. It was then I realized I hadn't been eating frequently for some days now. Marvy, you don't wanna starve your baby!, Huff!, She's still a foetus.

My heart began to thump uncontrollably. “Who are you?” I finally asked after recovering from the shock. “I’m Malcolm Blake’s baby mama. And who are you and what are you doing in my man’s house?” she fired, now glaring at me. “What!"

Rose ended the call immediately. “Tyler, we need to go.” “Go where, Mom?” “Please, no questions now.” “But I’m worried.” “It’s nothing to worry about, T.” “Mom, I heard you two arguing over the phone.” “I said no questions. POV: Kenny “They keep kneeling, I don’t know how to tell them I’m not tall enough to hold all of this.” Mama’s hand tightens on my shoulder before I even realize I’ve spoken out loud. “You don’t have to hold it,” she says softly. “Just don’t let it sit on your chest.” Papa stands on my other side. He doesn’t say anything, but his presence feels like a solid, unmoving wall. The crowd stretches farther than I can see, people from the villages, people from the fractured territories, wolves, humans, things that don’t fit neatly into either word.
