A trace of irritation crossed Briar’s face. The veins at his temple twitched, but he restrained himself and didn’t lash out. He merely repeated, “Why are you apologizing for him?”
Raina didn’t want to answer, but Briar clearly wouldn’t let it go. She knew he seemed indifferent to everything, like a man with a heart of stone. But once he was fixated on something, he needed closure—nothing and no one could stop him.
