I grinned at my boys, who were all looking nervous except for Mancini. I'd warned, I warned them all that my kid was a whole other breed of fucked up, but they all, to a man, claimed she was just a baby. My phone rang on my hip with the first strains of The Dark Army by Rok Nardin. Mengele's demented ass was calling. "It's in the bunny." I snapped my fingers at the boys to get their attention. "How do you know?" "I know." "Ryder, does your ex have a bunny?"

And now she doesn't care about him. "Well I saw him earlier tonight but he disappeared all of the sudden." I answered. Sasha seems concerned about something but she stays silent about it. The rest of the night went by quickly and I made my highschool bullies my friends. I even told them we could go out of town for a vacation. And they all agreed.

Three weeks ago, Ethan was a new transfer student, and he had shared his notes with me for a week. As soon as Leon saw this, Ethan had been the target of his anger. His teammates had made life miserable for the poor boy. They tore his homework, shoved him into lockers, and beat him up in the bathroom. The following week, Ethan transferred to another school. Since then, no one had cared to come close to him. “Jaxton,” I exhaled, “You have to leave. They don't want you with me please.” Jaxton turned to me, staring at me for a long second, “What they want is not a concern. I choose to stay and I will.”

“She smiles more now.” Tommy grinned slowly. “Maybe somebody should stop bullying her then.” I rolled my eyes. “I don’t bully her.” All three of them stared at me silently. Then Tyler burst out laughing. “BRO.” I grabbed a pillow and threw it directly at his face. But even while they laughed— One thought stayed stuck in my head. Hannah Foster was changing. Slowly. “Don’t come out the kitchen’s main door. Jimmy just fainted when he heard Tommy say he hates the burned egg scent. I hadn’t even thought about it before, but it must be Jimmy’s scent.” Ugh. The Beta grabs Jimmy’s free arm and the two of us drag the big giraffe to a private room off to the side of the dining hall.

“Regular fucking Lepke B this one, one man Murder Inc.” For a second, Jimmy was back in the lock up with the piles of shredded flesh and blood dripping from the ceiling. He couldn’t understand how all that could have gone by the time Charlie McKenzie’s men turned up. Did someone come and clean the place up? Jimmy felt a sharp pain in his side. He turned and saw Alfie had punched him. “You even listening to me?” Alfie said. “Sorry,” Jimmy said. “I’ve got a bit on my mind.” “I said are you here to score or what?”

I'll do anything. Jimmy stares at me for a long moment, and then he lets out a laugh. “Are you fucking kidding me right now?” he says, looking between Sebastian and me. “You want to take a piss?” “Please,” I plead now, twitching in my seat with my arms wrapped around myself. “I've been holding it for so long and I—I can't—” “Unbelievable.” Jimmy runs a hand over his face. “Un-fucking-believable.” Jimmy walks up to me with his gun raised. “If you try anything—and I mean anything—I will put a bullet through his head. You understand me?”

“I’m telling you that’s not how we speak here. We don’t reject what keeps us alive. We don’t posture at the wall that’s already guarding us. If you’re staying, you learn our rules. Our first rule is simple: if Baylee says you’re ours, you’re ours. That’s not up for debate.” A low sound slipped from Jimmy. Not quite a growl. More… assessing. He stared hard at Collin for three silent heartbeats. Then he snorted. And let his shoulders drop half an inch. “All right,” he muttered. “There he is.” Collin blinked. “What.” Jimmy’s mouth twitched. “Was waiting for you to show me the teeth,” he said. “Didn’t want to find out you were soft.” Collin just stared at him.

Once again the embarrassment settled in and I felt my tears built again. "Sofia suffers from mental issues. I'm sorry for her behaviour," mum apologised. Of course, Erica could never be wrong. I was always the wrong one. "I think she should be put in a mental facility before she harms another student then," principal Morris was saying. I chuckled at my misery. She never saw all the bullying of the other students. Would I be wrong to harm anyone else who bullies me?
