She was never going to surrender to him; he bought her, but he couldn't buy her life. She was going to make sure she made his life a living nightmare. She was going to make him regret ever buying her and let her go. Yes, he was going to release her himself when he got tired of her. She grinned; he didn't know what he bought. He had just purchased a nightmare, and that nightmare was hers.

He collapses to the ground, growling in pain, desperately fighting back. My mum, in a desperate howl, drops me and shifts into her wolf form to join the fierce battle. Then I wake up with a jolt as hot tears stream down my eyes. My heart races like it wants to escape my chest as the remnant of the dream lingers in my mind. Scanning the room, confusion clouds my thoughts as I search for reassurance that it was just a dream. The dream is disturbing because it keeps recurring. I had watched my dad get killed by a ruthless Alpha right in front of me, and since then, the scene of battle keeps reoccurring.

“I know.” Later that night, curled up in Xavier’s arms, I couldn’t sleep. My mind was a chaotic storm, and every time I managed to drift off, nightmares would jolt me awake. In my dreams, I kept seeing Vivian’s head being chopped off and Cecilia screaming, accusing me of her death. Each time I woke up in a panic, Xavier was right there, pulling me close and whispering reassurances, reminding me that it was just a nightmare. But even his soothing voice couldn’t chase away the images. I tossed and turned, struggling to quiet my mind. Eventually, exhaustion won, and I slipped into an uneasy sleep.

POV Sammy I let what Cash's friend and Locke had told us sink in. If they were telling the truth, Kitty was in more danger than we thought. This trip was only going to take a couple of days.
