Three years after my best friend Caleb and I mated to the female Alpha twins of the Creek Pack, their stepbrother Victor — the one the powerful twins truly loved — came back. Caleb and I planned to run away, but the night before our escape, he was poisoned with wolfsbane. I called his mate Selene, but she didn't believe Caleb was really dead. I gripped the phone tighter, forcing my voice steady. "Selene, I'm not joking. Caleb... he's really dead."

Caleb looked down at his trembling hands. Victory. Revenge. Control. And Lucas was offering a path to all of it—even if it led straight through hell. “Fine,” Caleb said, breathing hard. “I’ll give you Hale.” Lucas stepped forward, clapping him once on the shoulder, sealing their twisted pact. “Good,” he whispered. “Then tomorrow… we begin.” Caleb nodded, his mind unraveling. He didn’t know— He couldn’t know— That he had just unleashed something he couldn’t control.

I snort and look over to Alex, who is glaring at Leo, who does nothing but flip him off, eyes never leaving the TV. "Are you gonna leave us out of the introductions?" My eyes flick to the second man now. He looks shorter, with a bald shaven head and dark skin. He was extremely muscular, a little too much for my liking. His eyes were completely focused on the screen, and he was biting his lip in concentration. It just looked like they were shooting people to me. Who knew it required so much focus? "Yeah, yeah. That's Caleb. He doesn't just look like a dick, he actually is one."

Caleb teased with a smirk as he picked up the cup of hot coffee on the table. "Yeah, it's the second one," he was taking a sip of his coffee but as soon as I spoke, he spat it all out. "What?!" His eyes bulged out as he gazed at me in disbelief. "You're joking right?" He asked just to be sure but the gaze that I was giving was just too firm to be a lie. "Are you serious, who's the lucky girl? I want to meet her," Caleb couldn't hide his excitement. He was a very good Alpha who worked hard to ensure everyone was happy.

These two knew how to work together, and even though they're different in a lot of ways, both of them put in work to their relationship, I love them both for that. "Have you been able to reject going to that naked bathing," Caleb asked as he turned towards me on the bed where I sat. "No!" I sharply answered as though I'd been waiting for him to remember I was here and talk to me, and maybe I'd been waiting. "Well, you have to find a way Kayla, for all we know, this might yet be another ploy for you, for me, for the whole of Crescent pack, and we don't wanna walk right into a trap," Caleb explained and I just nodded affirmatively, I didn't need to be told this was a trap, I knew that already.

This year, my dad decided to get involved in Coachella so we're currently discussing that. After 2 and a half hours of meeting, we're done. I walked out the meeting room and checked my phone. There's a text from Caleb saying that he's waiting for me in my office room. I went up to my office and found Caleb sitting on my chair looking out the window. "Hey.. you okay?" I asked as I walked to him. He nodded and he pulled me to sit on his lap. "Did something happen?" I asked and he just buried his head to my chest. I patted his back and caressed his head.

“Katty is Ryan’s girlfriend.” Olivia shared more of her old school memories with her friends. Caleb was initially envious when he saw Olivia and Ryan together, but his feelings quickly faded when he learned that their relationship was over. Olivia was a decent dancer. Caleb was also pleased that Olivia unintentionally spoke to him while telling them about her days at her old school. Caleb needs to apologize to her for his rude behaviour on Saturday and then talk to her about Carson, among other things.

We’ll see. Caleb: Shane, no. If I see Marco again, I’ll lose my mind. He keeps looking at me like he wants to eat me. Me: He’s bisexual. You’re kind of his type. Caleb: I don’t care about that. I just don’t want to be anywhere near him. That guy is crazy. I held my laugh back while I typed again. Me: I agree. I’m about to board the flight back. Caleb: Why not use the private jet?

“This just gives me hope that something is keeping Damien tethered to this realm.” Caleb is oddly silent and then he picks up his tea, sipping it, before suddenly saying, “The effects of the moonshine are gone from your system now, aren’t they?” He’s talking to me and I nod, “I’ve started growing those flowers. I consumed a lot of them.” Caleb holds out his hand, “May I?” His fingers run over the inner side of my wrist and then he releases my hand, “Well, it’s gone.”

Now, when it's almost time for bed, I'm trying to focus on N*****x and the piece of ice cream I have in my bottle cap, but. Caleb is working out further away from the TV. He is standing up, curling weights shirtless. A sheen of sweat coats his tanned body. His ass is plump inside his boxer briefs, and I'm trying so hard not to look, but damn, he is hella fine! Caleb chuckles. "You know, even if you're tiny, I can see that you're looking at me, Teacup." A maddening blush burns my face. "I'm totally focusing on the TV... I love watching Iron Chef!"
