If there was anything Chris liked about Zelda, it was her efficiency. He only had to say a few words for her to understand what he meant. Just then, Chris' phone rang in his pocket, and when he took it out, he saw a familiar name before answering. "What do you want?" Chris said brusquely. "Come on Chris, I thought we were more than that?" the person on the other end said, his voice light and humorous despite Chris being harsh.

I should give him a call and tell him about the money before it's too late. I went to the phone booth nearby and dialed the number on his card. "Good day! Who am I speaking with please?" a lady asked from the other end "I want to speak with Mr Williams" I said politely "Yes, I know you want to speak with him but you have to tell me who you are so I can pass it to him" she said "I'm Chris, just tell him that" "Okay, hold on!.......... He will be speaking to you now" she said and passed the phone to him

I added. “If that was the case then I wouldn’t have asked at all” Chris told me “I spoke to Albert already and he agreed to give you a few hours off” Chris told me again. “Chris” I tried to protest but he bit me to it. “I’ll send my driver to pick you up” Chris said into the phone and then hanged up. After the call had ended I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was wrong somewhere. Chris never ends call in that manner except something was wrong or maybe he lost something valuable.

I call the only person who can help me locate them. --- Chris answers his door in a t-shirt with the expression of a man who was in the middle of something he wasn't supposed to be in the middle of. He takes one look at my face and steps back. "Come in," he says. I'm already inside before he finishes the sentence. He closes the door and turns around and I can already tell from the particular energy he's carrying that he has something prepared. Something he's been sitting on. "Good timing, actually," he starts. "I've been meaning to call you about the Ezekiel King thing. I've been digging for days and I want to give you my update."

Chris perceived it was because her vocal cords had been strained because of prolonged crying. “Valerie, where the hell are you?”, Chris asked, concerned. “Chris?”, she said in surprise, as she had recognized his voice. “Why are you calling me?”. “Chase told me he couldn’t find you, your phone was unreachable”, he said. “Yes it was off...”,she said. “Off?”, he said, dubious. “Yes my phone was off. Phones go off all the time, is that a crime?”, she asked angrily.

"Chris, I love you!" Chris sighed and just pretended that he did not hear anything. He immediately took out his phone from his pocket and answered the call even though it was an unknown number because he wanted to avoid Janice. "Chris?" A lady's voice said his name from the other line the moment he answered the call. His hand that was holding the phone went frozen when he recognized who is it because of its voice. He felt guilty even though he is not yet married with her, nor neither do they have a romantic relationship.

Just busy so they couldn't come. Cassie: Well at least you guys are here. My phone pinged and I looked at screen. It was Chris. Chris: "If you need anything Candy for tomorrow. Just give me a call". Cassie: "Okay. I will. Thanks". Chris: "No need to thank me Candy. Happy to help".

Thank you for checking in. Three dots appeared almost immediately. Chris: “Thank God. I was worried. Call me later? There’s something you need to know.” My stomach dropped again. “What?” I typed. Chris: “Not over text.” I stared at the screen. Mason noticed. “What now?” “Chris wants to call, says there’s something I need to know.” His expression sharpened instantly. “Put it on speaker.” “It’s probably just work.” “Speaker.” I exhaled slowly and pressed call. Chris picked up on the second ring.

Liam asked. Chris let out a deep breath, lost in thought before replying to his friend. “ find a way to pay the money anonymously” His phone rings. The caller is unknown so he swiped left. “Who was that?” Liam asked. “ unknown caller” “ pick the call” Chris obeyed instantly he dropped the one he was calling Liam with and picked up the phone on loudspeaker. “ Hello Chris”
