Red ink scrawled across printouts of Greek translations. Cerberus: Guardian of the Underworld. Chimera: Fire-breathing horror. Eternal opposites. Gatekeeper and Destroyer. Her eyes burned from staring too long at the same paragraphs. But every time she blinked, she saw the mall. She saw Cerebus sedated, collapsing, dragged away like trash. He was aware of the smell of sulfur in the air that Sudanni could not name where it came from. Sudanni jumped down and the eyes of those who saw them widened. It was around 30 feet from above and he jumped like it was just some 3 feet tall. But what can they expect from Sudanni? As expected he charges at me without having a concrete plan. The growl evolved and fluctuated in so much rage.

She looks at Samson looking completely lost then looks back to me quickly. “Who is Cerberus? I-I mean as in t-that Cerberus?” She stutters over her words. She seems frightened and I hear her swallow the lump in her throat her heart racing out of control. I had forgotten that Cerberus is fierce and capable of wielding the flame. Only she was forged by it. The flame runs through Cerberus' veins. Cerberus is known for incinerating any witch that comes within firing distance. “Yes, Cerberus guardian of the underworld the four-headed hellhound. Won’t she get in the way?” The white witch looks at me and I nod confirming their words. She paces and then looks at me again and I feel a pain in my ches

I could hear the sound of him treading the snow thinner but firmer. All of a sudden, Cerberus took a halt. I clenched on his shoulder blade hard to prevent flying forward at inertance. I stuck out my head as slight and slow as possible, trying to see if Cerberus spotted a prey. [10 o'clock, 20 feet.] Though Cerberus wasn't supposed to hear us, Al still used a small voice as he guided me.

On the main screen, the path of the Cerberus worm flickered, its line jerking away from our core systems and veering toward a secondary node labeled BERLIN-HONEYPOT-07. “Wraith,” I barked into the comm. “The device is fused. Can you overload it? Burn it out from your end before the Cerberus trace locks onto the new route?” A static-filled pause. Then, her cool voice. “Affirmative. High-voltage surge from my tool kit. It’ll blow the circuit and fry the physical link. But it will also trigger a full, irreversible lockdown on their end. And there will be a flash. I will be made.”

Onyx whispers in my mind. I look up and she’s right. Cerberus had stopped near a flowing river. One that I am sure is the one that cleanses.

~AURORA POV~ The fire was burning around him. It was like he was created with Lava alone. I couldn't believe my eyes. He stood there, unscathed by the flames that engulfed him. It was as if he had some kind of supernatural power protecting him. "Cerberus!" I heard Sofia mutter. I looked at Sofia's terrified face. "What is it? " "It is often depicted as a three-headed dog with a serpent's tail and guards the entrance to the Underworld, preventing the dead from escaping and the living from entering." I can see her body trembling.
