He hurriedly picked it up and spoke in a muffled voice, “Hello?” “Have you not come back yet?” Dorothy asked. “I’m back.” “What are you doing? Creeping around?” “Yeah, I’m chasing a demon.” “What? Tell me your location, I’m coming right now.” “This…” “Are you chasing a demon, or are you chasing some female nymphs?” “I really am chasing a demon, it almost killed Charles. I followed the trail to see what the heck it is.” “Have you seen it?” “Not yet, but I’m almost catching up to it.”

Hero prepared to fight Chase. That was when it happened. Chase suddenly reached out to grab Hero by the neck. He slammed Hero against the hood of the car. "What are you doing?!" Hero yelled. "Aren't I your target?" Chase's eyes narrowed. There was a cruel smile on his face. "Do you think you can trick me with such a move?" Hero struggled but realized that no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to escape from Chase's grip. He started to panic. Who was this person in front of him? Why was he so powerful?

In less than five minutes, Chase had all of his men from the tracking team assembled in the living room and their laptops placed on the coffee table along with his three cousins. He slid his hands in his pants pocket and brought out a cigar and lighter. He lighted the cigar and took a long drag of smoke before puffing it out. That was what kept him calm. He was trying hard not to yell or act on impulse. He badly wanted to search for Sophia in every nook and cranny of the city but it was impossible at the moment. For Sophia, he was ready to burn down the whole city to find her, but he needed to keep his calm.

As soon as he realizes I'm still watching, he freezes, then quickly turns on his heel and takes off. I'm intrigued - Why is he trying to escape? My instincts tell me to follow him. I take off in a sprint, as I chase after the suspicious guy. My heart races with adrenaline as I gain on him. Thanks to my track days in high school, I'm able to quickly close the gap between us. I launch myself at him, tackling him to the ground. We both hit the pavement hard, the pain shot hard but I'm grateful that I'm able to catch him.

He turns around sharply at the sound of my voice and immediately begins to backtrack. “ Hold it right there, you piece of shit!” He turns a corner and takes to his heels and I chase after him, hot on his heels. He runs through the parking lot and outside the company. I do not relent in my pursuit, eyes locked on his retreating figure. The image of the dead bird and the pictures he took , as vivid as ever, fuel me to move my legs faster,legs pounding on the asphalt and my heart beating loudly in my ears. Just as I reach out to grab him, he makes a sharp turn into an alley.
