I don’t know what’s wrong with me…but I’m been getting craving for food quite a lot for the past couple of months. I walked into the kitchen and headed straight for the fridge to grab some iced water before grabbing my favourite burritos. I breathed in and out slowly, not letting myself think too much. “Why do Aiv and I have to go there? You guys can just leave us here, we can handle ourselves!” I heard Nick argue. I walked into the living room where all of my dear ones were gathered. It’s such a blessing to have them here with me. “What’s wrong, Nick?” I asked.

Come back to me. I love her.

“Stop being mean to me! Stop being mean to me!” I break down in tears. My chest is stifling. It cannot contain my frustration. Why won't anything ever go my way? “Kael, what do I do?” Kael pats my back with an assuring look. “It's okay. This is not the end. You can still shift another full moon. Pull yourself together.” “What do I do? What do I do Kael…I'm so confused right now…” She sighs and without speaking another word, she just pulls me into her body. I stay there in her hands and my tears flow.

Not from the truth. She nodded slowly. “Yes, Camila. That was your dad.” The little girl blinked, her expression unreadable for a long moment. “I liked him.” Natalia's throat tightened. “I know.” Camila looked down at the picture in her hand—a family drawing. A woman. A child. A man added in pencil, just recently sketched in. “Can he come back again?” Natalia didn’t have an answer. She pulled her daughter into a tight embrace, holding her like she was the only stable thing left in a world suddenly tilting.

"Come back with me." He looked deep into my eyes, his voice steady, anchored in an unshakable certainty. "Forget this place. Forget all of it."

"I won't bring you back here, baby. Not to a place that can't love you whole." Nadine tried to recall what the boy from her dream looked like. She tried to picture his face again, how he laughed, how he said her name, but the quiet of the room and the exhaustion of the day pulled her under before she got very far. Knock Knock The sound barely reached her. Half-asleep, she mumbled, "Yes, Adrian…" From behind the door, his voice: "I'm going out—" She didn't hear the rest of it. "Mmm… kay…"
