I shoot him a look. “You’ll live.”
“Debatable,” he mutters under his breath, but I ignore him.
The drive is quiet, the roads dark and empty except for the occasional flickering streetlight.
The cemetery is just on the outskirts, close to my old apartment building, hidden behind tall, iron gates.
The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and old flowers, the trees swaying gently in the breeze.
Achilles steps out and looks around, shoving his hands into his coat pockets. “I hate cemeteries,” he mutters. “They give me the creeps.”
