The room a whirlwind of memories and debris. I crawled toward the scattered lilies. The last breath of yellow in a world turned red. I picked one up. So soft. So fragile. Just like her. And then—I crushed it. Crushed it in my fist until the petals turned to pulp and the stem snapped. “Ahhh!” A cry erupted from my chest. The kind that rips through bone. The kind that shatters ribs. The kind that no one should ever hear. The kind that turns a man inside out.

He walked away after. Vanessa bent down on the floor and sobbed a little. Suddenly, her face turned cold and stony and she shivered in rage. She can't go down like this. Kaylee would have to pay for this. Pay hard. * * *

I heard a satisfying crack . He screamed, a high-pitched, animalistic sound, and crumpled to his knees.

Crack— The sharp sound of bone breaking rang out suddenly. Mireille screamed in agony, cold sweat pouring down her forehead, yet she refused to give up. Her eyes blazed with fury as she glared at Raina. “How dare you! Raina, you filthy—” Raina had just crushed one of her arm bones with a single hand! How was that even possible?

I saw that Flynn had sent me a ton of messages. Flynn: "We trained all day today, and I just got my phone back. You're not mad I didn't text earlier, right?" Flynn: "I did really well in training. I'm totally gonna win the championship at the next competition." Flynn: "Look, I found this kitten by the side of the road. Isn't it cute? It's just like you." Flynn: "Didn't you say you've always wanted a cat? When I'm back after training is over, we'll go to the pet store and pick one you like."

I was playing Candy crush when my room door opened and Sarah stepped inside. I sat up immediately. "Hey" Sarah called out as she sat down on my bed. I didn't reply her as I plugged my phone. "Nervous much?" Sarah asked. "Yeah" I replied. "You are gonna do great" Sarah said with a shrug. "Adeola said that too" I added. "See" Sarah said gesturing with her hands to prove her point. "Things are not going to be easy for me as it was for you" I replied.
