Daniel stepped backward letting Nathan fall to the ground. “I’ll help you up to your feet because you’re my brother and I love you being alive rather than being dead” Daniel chuckled as he raised Nathan to his feet, letting him sit on the bed.

He looked up. The physician lifted his head. He had a jagged scar running from his temple to his jaw, a reminder of the fire that had leveled their village. Daniel pulled up in front of the hotel that his father owned in the city, it had been a long drive and he was tired as hell. He told Catherine to wait in the car while he went inside the lobby and straight up to the front desk. It looked as if the man behind the counter was not agreeing with him, and that worried her slightly. She watched as he shook his head angrily and pull out his wallet. He flashed his identification to the clerk, who quickly submitted and changed his tune. She chuckled a little when she saw the clerk drop his head and hand Daniel a key without saying anything else at all.
