What is happening? She bravely stepped forward, desperately hoping that she would find a heavy door or a small window so she could at least get a little light to see her surroundings. The thick darkness was viciously suffocating her. It is no surprise that the vast majority of people actively despise the dark. It is indeed a powerful weapon, as it can control anyone, anywhere. It is a loophole—a terrifying loophole of pure black vision and a low ringing sound in the ears. It swallows people whole and carries them down, deep somewhere far away from the known universe.

Almost suddenly, lightning flashed throughout the bright skies and I could see darkness descend. Shadow creatures. I almost whispered the words while the other warriors looked around cluelessly. I could see them approach from underneath the earth, tainting the grounds with their shadows, displaying horns and spiked tails, their darkness enveloping the area. I could still notice the king's guard, his gaze wandering, trying to figure out what darkness this was. Then it dawned on me that they couldn't see them as I could. They couldn't see their form, just the evident darkness brought with them.

Total. The kind of darkness that existed before the world was formed, before light was separated from void, before the first star ignited in the emptiness of space. Then... One crimson rune slowly began to glow. It was not large, this rune, no bigger than a human hand, but its light seemed to push against the darkness with terrible insistence, carving out a sphere of visibility in the sea of blackness. Its dim light revealed a figure standing beyond the ancient glass wall. A wolf cloaked entirely in black.

There was only one thought in Alexander's mind. If I were here, I definitely could have handled this incident swimmingly and earned the respect of those Lunas with ease. After a few minutes, Shadow still seemed agitated as he neighed again. "What is it?" I could hear sirens from a distance. The woods were practically pitch black, so I was unable to see. The gazebo wasn't too far from where we were, so I made Shadow walk faster. Once we reached the gazebo, I looked out at the ranch. My eyes grew wide, and my heart started pounding as I was horrified by what I saw. My house was engulfed in flames. "SHADOW, GO!" Shadow immediately began running back to the house. He was a fast runner, but it felt like he wasn't running fast enough. I kept squeezing his sides, causing him to push himself harder than he ever had. I could feel Shadow strain, but I didn't care.
