"Yes, but it goes deeper than that." His tone hardened. "She might have the ability to control a lycan like a dog on a leash—or worse, to create one." Alaric's eyes widened in shock. "Create…a lycan?" Alpha Derek’s gaze burnt into him. "We both know those murders weren’t done by a werewolve or a panther shifter. They were done by a lycan." His voice dropped to a near whisper. "And I can assure you, they weren’t done by any of my machinery."

His voice cracked with emotion as he shouted, his words laden with pain, "Don't come closer to me!" Ryle's voice trembled as he uttered the words, his voice barely a whisper amidst his tears, "I... don't... have... Lycan... blood... in me?" My body shook and my legs wobbled at the sight of him. He moved closer with quiet confidence, his blue eyes sharp and focused on me like he could see right through me. This wasn’t just any man; his authority was undeniable. He had to be the Lycan King—King Derek. His eyes narrowed as he stood in front of me, his presence almost suffocating. “Who are you?” His voice was low and dangerous, making me want to shrink away. He was the one. I stared at the man who had killed everyone in my pack house, including my family—this cold, intimidating man who was now after my life.

We both turned to see Derek standing right there at the door with his eyes blazing with red flames the same way I saw his father doing. “I’m not going to repeat that command.” He growled. Daven stubbornly held onto my hand even though his grip relaxed a little. “Nothing to worry about.” Daven smiled crookedly. “I was just having a con…” I noticed Derek move but his movement was just too fast for me to catch. One moment he was standing there and another moment he was just a blurry streak moving towards Daven. With his Alpha powers, Daven was quick to react but not as quick as the angry lycan prince moving towards him.

Anna justified. “I know what he is.” She answered calmly. “I saw him.” Her voice trembled for a moment. “The fact that you and his Beta are seeing each other and all, which I won’t think about, speaks for itself.” She said, making Ana’s cheeks blush. “What do you mean?” She asked her, confused. “I think he was able to smell me in contact with Derek, as he sensed that I was in danger, even though he didn’t mark me, because he is a Lycan, and a king.” Her voice took on an angry tone.

His gaze shifted back to Vivica, and this time it lingered. Before I could react, he moved with supernatural speed, closing the distance between them in a heartbeat. He took her hand gently, almost reverently, and lifted it to his lips, pressing a brief kiss to her knuckles. "Miss Vivica," he said as he straightened, his posture flawless. "I am Master Derick Lykoudis, second in command to the Lycan King. I am sorry for how we met the first time." His voice carried sincerity, but there was something unreadable beneath it. "I wasn't aware of who you were, or that you were once a member of King Tormund's pack."
