“It is I, Elder Selene. Beta Max sent me. May I enter?” My stomach twisted. This was it the interrogation. They would peel my mind open and see every shameful secret Dexter had buried there. I wanted to refuse, to hide under the blankets like a child, but I knew I couldn’t. Not if I wanted any chance of redemption. “Come in,” I whispered. The door unlocked with a soft click. Elder Selene stepped inside, her silver hair braided, eyes glowing faintly with power. Max followed close behind, his broad frame filling the doorway. His gray eyes found mine immediately, filled with a fierce protectiveness that made fresh tears sting.

“Not many get that close to me in that form. Something about you differs from the others. I have worked hard to fit into this pack with no trouble. I have seen you around, but never got close. Yes, I am Elmer.” He told her with a wolfish grin. Elmer helped Sage up off the ground. In trying to help her dust off the dirt, he patted her ass to get the dirt off she smacked him. Elmer was so shocked that he looked down at her in awe.

"Fine escort him to my office and stay, I need to discuss a few thing with you after." I open the door and the men enter, I move to my chair, "so Elder Jonah's what can I do for you?" I clasp my hands in my lap waiting patiently for him to speak, he's the oldest Elder and extremely old fashioned in his ways, he clears his throat, "Alpha Braddock, first let me say that I am not here to cause issues, I personally do not have an issue with this type of thing." I arch a brow at him, this old fucker has an issue with everything, so what doesn't he have an issue with, "go on," I say nonchalantly.

“Yes, I mean Roman Sinclair Sr. You killed him and his two sons seven years ago during a turf war. Remember we never found the last son because he was aboard and then he went off grid after that.” That fucking bastard. Now, he's back as Mark Luxembourg. And I'm very sure he didn't come back to America because he missed McDonald's.

Alpha Max explained to the old man. I smiled at the old man and he responded in kind. "I told you we should be able to stop the negative habits of my past. I want to change, Elder," Alpha Max said to the old man. It turned out that the old man was Hans, an Elder in the Harvest Moon Pack. Hans then gently rubbed Alpha Max's shoulder. "I think you can, and you know it. The three low-ranked members who messed up yesterday messed up again today," Elder Hans explained.
