Max cleared his throat, his voice steady but tinged with urgency. Taking a moment to observe the council members, Max noted their identities. The council comprised seven individuals: Jackson, Fenrir, Magnus, Astrid, Thalia, Ragnar, and Ruben. They were all revered Elders within the werewolf community. But Max knew their reputations didn’t necessarily reflect their true nature. Ruben and Jackson were sympathetic to Max’s cause, and he hoped to win over Thalia, the only female alpha in the council.

The man sitting to the left of Alpha Ber had more rugged features, like those of the wolves I’ve lived the past fifteen years with. All the members at the table had plates in front of them already, with exception for the man with delicate vampire-like features and the man sitting beside Alpha Ber. Our Alpha was deeply engrossed in a conversation with the other man, something about border security and holy water. The other man glanced at Eskal before he returned to his discussion. My mind shifted it's focus to an article that I had read on social media earlier today, Twitter to be precise. It was about the multi Billionaire CEO of Sparta Enterprises, named Simon Lawson. Apparently, he was getting married in a few days, to some mystery girl that no one had any idea about. When the media asked him for his reason for keeping the identity of the girl he was getting married to a secret, his response, was that he just didn't want people harrassing her. It was a sweet response, that made me smile when I read it; how sweet of him.
