Kimberly P.O.V One anguish hour passed before the emergency room. Juliana fell asleep while crying heavily on her mother’s shoulder. Victoria rushed to the pack hospital when she got the news that Adrian was taken to the emergency room again. I was leaning on the wall outside the emergency room.

“Paging Doctor Irene Mooncrest, you are needed at the emergency room now.” “Paging–” I didn’t need to be paged twice to dash off to the emergency room. Wolves are fast sprinters, but I’m faster. Ragged breaths and wails of anguish greeted me as I entered. “What happened?” I asked no one in particular. Three men and two women are lying bloody on the stretchers. They are extremely thin and their clothes are tattered. Their hairs are cut in a careless manner.

The staff looks around at each other but before they can answer, someone near the ER door shouts, “The first ambulance is here!” I turn around and flip back into my doctor mode and rush towards the entrance. The glass doors slide open and the EMS pushes in the first patient. “I have an adult male, mid-30s, with several visibly broken bones.” I step aside and let them pass. Someone else can handle him. I spot another ambulance pulling up and stay rooted in place, patiently watching. The ambulance’s back door opens, and I can see a few kids huddled together on the bed. Blood oozes down a couple of theirs faces while fear dances in all their eyes.

She replied to him happily. “Great,” Dr. Shepherd than handed her the permission slip. She signed the permission slip and was transferred the next day. She knew she would have an easy holiday season. Every year the holiday season the Emergency room saw triple the number of cases than any other time of the year. The exposure of this case attracted plenty of attention and became the headline of several news reports. It was the talk of the town and erupted all over social media, with people demanding the urgent arrest of the ones responsible.
