This pull is strange, scary but amazing. The problem now is, how do I keep the most stubborn Vampire to ever exist safe without having a fight with her?

He said this last almost apologetically. His gaze darted back and forth from Emily to William, and she saw William give a small nod. "I'm not a child," she said, annoyed by their exchange. "I realize most vampires feed on people." "All vampires feed on people. Some are just more selective about the process," Empusa disagreed gently. Emily fell silent at that. They continued to move down the corridor while she considered his words. He was right, she realized. "I didn't mean to upset you," Empusa interrupted her thoughts. "I was just pointing out the facts."

I walked back to my new seat, and found a note. Hi Asoka, I am Amara Emory. I am the daughter of one of the queen's first turned noble vampires. I am not royal like you, but I do have powers. I can shield people from other vampires' power, or make a vampire powerless. Isn't that cool. Anyhow, I hope we'll be good friends. I looked up, and Amara was listening to the teacher introduce herself for my sake.

“My name is Emily.” My heart clenches painfully. How old is she? Five? Six? I bend over and touch her bony little shoulder. “Hello, Emily. My name is Simone.” So Vesper’s one of those vampires then. He feeds on children. There are a few of those around. Technically, they’re not allowed to do it, but I have yet to meet a vampire that cares about the council’s laws. “It’s nice to meet you,” Emily says. At least her colour is healthy. Her cheeks are beautifully pink and her lips a deep red. She’s not underfed or sickly. “Did Vesper send you?” I ask.

“Don’t underestimate me!” As the empress charged towards her, Emery stanced and waited for her to draw closer. She counted each step that Empress Serena took before raising her foot. In one swift kick right on the jaw, she knocked her off of her feet in no time. The empress tried to get up as fast as she could, however, everything around her seemed to be turning upside-down. Emery, on the other hand, got on top of her and held her on the collar. “Did you wish for an instant death?” she whispered, but did not wait for her to answer. “If yes, then I must break that bubble of yours because I will make sure that you suffer in so much pain that you want to kill yourself just to end it.”

“You are not understanding this, Jasper. I need to leave as soon as possible.” Grand Empress whispered softly in authoritative tone to her son Jasper who found her sneaking out of the castle even before the morning. Carol and two guards were accompanying her. Only the Empress was proud and not afraid at the moment finding that she was caught by the working King of Werewolves, the others were shaking like dead and fallen leaves under his sharp glares which were sending chills down their spines.

When they get the chance, run like mad. The door opened again making Ember jump, this time Red came in. “Let’s go, m’lady.” He smirked and made a mocking bow as he gestured for her to follow him out of the hut. She glared at him and walked out. She saw there were about fifty vampires moving about breaking down camp. The fire she had seen had only been one of ten spread out through the forest. She didn’t recognize a thing as she glanced around her. She had the sudden urge to run when she felt a hand clamp hard around her bicep.

Silas stared at the three guys in front of him. "According to this book written by our ancestors and kept by the Queen and King, Red Woods is the last empire of living vampires nowadays. In short, we are the last vampires standing. Decades ago, Red Woods is divided into five regions: Auburn of North, Cerise of East, Vermillion of Metropolis, Carmine of West, and Carnelian of South. We are now at Vermillion." He flipped the book, showing the map to Jet and Raze while pointing at the regions.

The heavy doors shut behind her, a sigh of relief accidently slipping from my lips as I watched Vincent re-take his seat, Sebastian soon following his son and Berus moving to stand beside him. I remained on the floor, unsure if I would be able to stand, but also knowing that I must, I couldn’t show them how weak I truly was.
