Noticing that I was standing in front of Captain Walter, he quickly put on a smile and extended his hand.
“Greetings, sir. I’m Jack, the boss of Jenkins Construction.”
I scoffed and refused to shake his hand. Instead, I turned and got into the car, using another phone to call my father to let him know I was safe. I was still unfamiliar with Jacksboro City’s situation and needed his guidance.
Jack’s eyes briefly flashed with irritation when I ignored him, but when he glanced at Captain Walter, he quickly suppressed it.
“Captain Walter, just who exactly did my brother offend? Please help us smooth things over. The Jenkins family will be deeply grateful.”
