I was trying so hard to remember where I knew him from. “You don't remember me?” He arched his brows, narrowing his eyes on me. “No, I'm trying hard to.” I replied, an apologetic smile on my face. “Let me save you the stress of raking your brain.” He leaned closer, our faces just inches away, yet I didn't move back. “I'm Gideon, the guy who saved you from those girls, few weeks back.” Yes! Yes! I remembered him. I've been trying to get information about him, but it seemed like he was a ghost without any trace or whatsoever.

It made him feel a sort of pressure that he hadn’t felt in a long time. “The people of the Liberated are such cowards! Thankfully, they’ve prepared an incredible prey for me tonight. I’m interested in seeing who’s willing to assist them in their fight against the Jackals!” Gideon had arrived at the manor’s main gate. In front of him stood a massive iron gate. It was neither opened nor locked. He paused in front of the iron gate while peering inside. He didn’t reach for the iron gate. Instead, he launched a punch into the air.

He stared, unfocused for a moment before another strained sound slipped out of his mouth and his eyes almost bulged out of their socket, jittering with fear. I smirked at his reaction. Good. Just the expression I wanted. Then I spoke slowly, my voice carrying the weight of a command, heavy with compulsion that could not be resisted. “Who are you?” I demanded. His only good eye darkened with a soft glow, caught in the power of my compulsion and his lips parted. “I am Gideon, a rogue assassin from the dark hive.”

He notices the fear in her voice and sits down on the ground where he was, hoping it would make her feel a little calm. “I live a little far from here. I just got into a fight with my father and walked away. I kept walking and walking and walking until I looked up and saw the lights. I—I’m sorry. I am actually a little lost. I haven’t reached this side of the island before.” His last sentence piqued Leora’s interest. “Sounds like an adventure waiting to happen. Who are you again?” “Oh, uh, I’m Gideon Willows II. I’m named after my grandfather.”

At the mention of Gideon's name, Silas's expression grew even more sinister. "Gideon?" he sneered. "That exiled traitor? You know him? So you're the little spy who stole the code from him." Gideon… exiled? A traitor? My mind went blank. The shock was too great to process. "The Silver Peak Pack? You?" Silas's mental pressure crushed down on my fragile consciousness. "I've been with the pack for ten years and I've never seen you. A mongrel like you dares to impersonate royalty?"
