“Thanks,” I smiled, turning it over in my hands. It smelt strong, spicy, and it reminded me of fire, of flame. I hoped it would protect us all, though I had my doubts. I imagined it forming a flame around me, and then I pictured it spreading, healing and saving rather than destroying as it formed a shell around our eclectic group of vampires, witches, and a lone werewolf.
