And generational.” I looked at him. “And you think my father was one of them.” “I don’t think,” he said. “I know. I found this.” He reached into the bag again and pulled out a torn page, faded and marked with symbols that pulsed faintly in the light. He handed it to me. I took it with trembling fingers. The drawing was of a woman—eyes like mine. And next to her, a man with a wolf’s head and symbols wrapped around his body like armor. Underneath them: Sanguis Caeli. Blood of the sky.

He touches it slightly and seems to understand he's going to die of blood loss soon. “You Dishonorable beasts” he spits, raising his sword, “may the god of the green bless me” “What did he just say?” Celeste gasps. “May the earth accept me” “What is it, Celeste?” I ask. “May my foes be Tribute to the green” “He's no ordinary human!,” she mutters, “check his aura, what does it look like?” I immediately check and all I see is green. Bright beautiful green shining from him, digging into the earth and seeping into the trees.

There was a big fish picture on the menu, and for some reason, my eyes were stuck on it, and I could not get over it. “There's something about this picture.” I muttered, staring deeply at the picture. Nyx leaned in to look at it, and she locked in her eyes with the picture, but she was also void of what was going on. “It's just a big fish on a large paperback, with MC written on it?” She muttered. “No.” I shook my head, trying hard to figure out what it was, but my head wasn't bringing it to place. “Merrow!” I growled. “Fucking Merrow's curse!”

And at the bottom—a thin sketchpad with a frayed cover. I flipped through absently… until I saw it. A drawing in charcoal. Rough lines, but familiar. A crescent moon wrapped in the silhouette of a wolf, flames curled around the edges like they were alive. “I don’t remember drawing this,” I said quietly. “But it’s in your sketchbook,” Kayla replied, curious. “I know.” I touched the page—and something moved inside me. Dominic leaned in, his eyes narrowing on the sketch. “I’ve seen this symbol before… in a textbook. It’s connected to an ancient temple hidden deep in the forest ruins.”
