"Hannie, don't forget to feed Evie's dog today." Trevor Hayes' voice came through the phone—the voice I would never forget. I stood frozen, unable to believe what I was seeing. Outside the window, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" played faintly, as if the holidays refused to end. I rushed to the mirror. My skin was smooth again, and the scar was completely gone. Then, it hit me. I, Hannah Shaw, had come back to life.

And, I saw Biti laughing on the other end. "What is this?" I asked turning to Bryan. "You forgot it? It's your birthday, Zara." he answered with a smile. "But-" Bryan smiled, then came closer to me. "Happy 24th birthday." he said while hugging me. I do not know what to say. I have forgotten a very special day in my life. My birthday. I returned Bryan's hug. I don't know what spirit possessed my body so I hugged him back. "Thank you, Bry. I forgot that it's my birthday." I said while crying.

It’s bad enough the office is talking about the incident earlier, I don’t need them to know about me being sick. Once my stomach is empty and I am left dry heaving I continue towards my 2015 Hyundai Sonata and climb inside. It takes another minute for me to focus and when I do, I turn my car on and drive away. Riker’s number flashes across the touch screen of my car once the Bluetooth has connected but I ignore it. He told me I was nothing to him, so that’s what I will be right now.

I smiled to myself, shaking my head, and then noticed her phone lying on the table. "Ugh, this girl," I muttered, picking it up. Just as I stood, I remembered something else. "Oh! I forgot to remind her to come home with me in the evening." Without thinking, I grabbed my strawberry smoothie and hurried after her, weaving through the hallway toward Tower One, hoping I could catch her before she disappeared again.
