If there was one thing I couldn't stand, it was being held at an arm's length. Cain was going to have to decide between me or what was comfortable and safe. I desperately wanted to make the decision for him, but I knew I couldn't do that. Convincing him that I was the right choice would only lead to resentment later on if he happed to realize I was the wrong choice. But I didn't want to be the wrong choice. I wanted to be the only choice. And I think that is what frustrated me. I didn't want to be the one making the decision for him. I wanted him to be able to make it on his own. to choose me.
