I was going to be late for a meeting that I asked for so I stood stretching my arms over my shoulder and laughed at the humanistic movement. Most days I struggled to remember my human life, a distant memory where aches and pains were constant. There weren't a ton of differences between our kinds in all honesty. I was once the same as them. Now I drank blood, didn’t age, but it’ not like I could read minds. I couldn’t fly to a nearby city. I could hear exceptionally well. And I could demonstrate my inhuman strength if I was cornered to protect my bride. But that was about it.

They would show more respect to a dung beetle than they would to one of us. The thing is, we may be supernatural, but we are still human too. If you looked at our blood you would still see the clear signs of the human genome. We just have some additional cells as well.
