I just stare at him, trying to process the sheer scope of it.
“Theo would find this fascinating,” Mason says, and for the first time in a while, he grins. “The layers, the complexity. It’s fucked, but it’s smart.”
I can’t help but laugh, though it’s a hollow sound. “Yeah. He’d call it an impressive business model. Then he’d say he wants to put a bullet in every asshole involved.”
“So,” I say, “what do we actually know?”
