Rough, scorching. "Get in, I'll give you a ride back." It was a modified Ford Raptor, its chassis ridiculously high, the whole vehicle a matte black, looking like an armored beast straight off a battlefield. The engine roared as we sped down Route 66. The wind was strong, carrying red dust. Jasper steered with one hand, the other holding a half-smoked cigar, casually resting on the open window. "See that dry river valley over there?" He pointed with his cigar to the red rock walls outside the window.

The Santo Valley. Jasper is coming back to the place that I watched him walk away from with my family a decade ago, to avenge their death, whether I want him to or not. Everything different to what it was on the day of my awakening, yet it all falls into place so neatly. Tonight, is the end, but also the beginning. Problems can be resolved so we can start a life that we hoped for but didn’t know how to achieve, minus the war, minus Juan’s lingering shadow. We just need to get through, stay safe, hope for the best and try to protect as many of our pack as we can if we can’t stop the attack completely.

Aetherion Academy towers above me. It's carved into the cliffs like it belongs there—stone and iron and something older woven through it. Massive archways stretch toward the sky, banners snapping in the wind, dark against the gray-blue backdrop. Flickering golden lights spill out of the windows and all around. Like you can literally see the magic alive here. It's beautiful.

smiled Rose. With a hug Rose watched as they drove off. "Ok Deanna I we are the last ones to leave. Let's go." Rose fell asleep. She dreamt of a man. He was smart and stronger. There was a smell of cedar and vanilla. There was a smell of lavender that seem out of place. Driving all night they finally made it to the Moon Valley Pack by day break. "Rose we are here." whispered Deanna Rose opened her eyes. In front of her was a decent cottage. To the right was sweet garden that could grow veggies later. She would always make sure pups would not go hungry and a garden was a good start.

Across from it, facing it on the other side of the valley, is the bear clan’s mountain. “We used to come down into town sometimes to buy candy or get mail or whatever,” Jasper says, pulling the car up to a small motel with a sign outside that reads “SERPENT’S COVE - VACANCY.” There’s some kind of pirate theme to the motel, with a weather beaten model of a pirate ship out front and a picture of a pelican on the sign. “I’ve never actually stayed here before,” Jasper says. “So I doubt anyone will recognize me.”

Jasper's foot tapped rapidly against the floor, a clear sign of his impatience. His furrowed brow and clenched jaw revealed his growing frustration as the minutes dragged on. He was currently in Moon Valley to deliver the drugs his father had ordered him to. "Where the hell is that old man? How dare he make me wait?" Jasper growled, his voice dripping with irritation. His sharp glare was enough to make Jao gulp nervously. The young man bore an uncanny resemblance to his father, Derrick—both in cunning and ruthlessness.

“Who do you think you’re lying to? We’ve only spent six months in Mountain City.” Keane laughed. It was obvious that Elly, who was beside him, had hit him. “Don’t beat around the bush. We’re on a road trip.” Jasper did not want Keane to ruin his dreamy life. “I’ve found it. It’s Nieva.” Jasper frowned. Since the beginning, he had suspected that something was up Nieva’s sleeve. “How about Alfred?”
