Too pretty that I had gotten jealous for a brief moment. “ Hi, Kira. I’m Ruby and Aiden told me so much about you.” She said and tilted my head to look back at her brother then back at her.

I almost stuttered, but I managed to regain my composure. "I guess everyone is here. Now before we start, James has someone to introduce. It's his Niece. James?" my dad uttered. James cleared his throat. I glanced at her again. I dont know if it's just my imagination but I saw her surprised expression for a split second. Why are you here? I wanted to ask her. When I look around, everyone gets to their own business. “I'm so sorry about that ma'am,” a soft female voice speaks up from behind me. I turn to find a blond wearing a sympathetic face. She looks young enough to be in my age group. She's a little taller, and she's pretty, if I may add. Seeing the confusion in my face, she stretches her hand. “I'm Ruby. Your personal assistant,” she introduces herself with a smile. I shake her hand, finally recalling what Gavin had told me earlier. “Well, you don't have to worry about anything. I've got you,” she assures me.

Ruby, ever the observer, tilted her head curiously, “A friend of yours, Rhea?” “Yes.” I said, turning toward her, “Aurelia helped me that day, it was before the accident happened.” Ruby’s sharp gaze softened, “Ah, then I should thank you on Rhea’s behalf.” She said smoothly, offering her hand. “I’m Ruby Valtieri.” Aurelia blushed, shaking her hand timidly, “Oh, of course! I’ve read about you. It’s an honor, really.” “Flattery will get you everywhere, darling.” Ruby said with a playful smirk, before linking her arm through mine again, “Now, you must join us. We’re shopping, and I don’t take no for an answer.”
