Kai stuttered as his tears started to overflow in his eyes through his face. What he found out in front of him was his family's dead body lying on the ground while their hometown was covered with fire. "W-Who did this!?" Kai shouted with a red face, popping vein on his temple and strained neck. He pants hard as he stood up with a shaking body. "AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" He screamed in pain, face facing towards the sky, clenching fists, popping veins, wide mouth, closed eyes, and tears dripping on his cheeks.

Liam left and his boss sat down on a chair in front of me. "I realized I didn't introduce myself. I'm Kai Xiao", He said with a smile. It only increased my fear. His face screamed innocence. He reminded me of Nigel and I bursted into tears. Kai wasn't surprised, I couldn't stop it and I wept profusely. He didn't tell me to stop crying, he didn't even look at me. "I understand why you're crying", Kai said. "I didn't think you would jump, it was thrilling. I had to jump in immediately." Kai said still not making any eye contact. "I'm sorry I interrupted the sharks' dinner." He apologized.

I had never felt this vulnerable before and quickly tried to hide it. "Baby noooo! Hey, no, don't cry." Kai was at my side the second the salty smell reached his senses, hushing me in a voice more gentle then I had ever heard from him as he took my face in his hands, forcing me to look at him. That just did it for me. Suddenly I was sobbing and he was squishing my face into his shirt. What was I doing? I never cried! What was I even crying for?! My anger had been so consuming, how had that changed so quickly?

Then suddenly— "Oh my God!" Her voice cut through the quiet. Kane reacted instantly. His entire body snapped toward her, alert, tense, ready. "What?" he demanded. Mona's eyes were wide, but not with fear. With excitement. "We need to celebrate your win, mister!" Kane blinked. Then exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "Shit, princess," he muttered. "Don't do that." She tilted her head. "Do what?" "Yell like that," he said. "Thought something was wrong."

SURVIVORS: 14 Tess burst into tears again. “That number is too small…” Noah looked sick. “There were over thirty…” Kai rolled his neck. “Then they should’ve fought harder.” Lena turned on him. “What is wrong with you?” Kai blinked. Then his grin faded slightly. For the first time— he looked human. Tired. Haunted. “You think I don’t hear the screaming when I close my eyes?” Lena stopped talking. Kai looked away. “I just prefer laughing over breaking.” That shut everyone up.

And now he was almost losing Kai. Down the hall, Kai lay on the guest bed and cried. He cried because he was scared. He cried because he was tired. He cried because he didn’t know how to keep going without almost breaking. He cried because he felt like he had failed Damien. Failed Kaicen. Failed himself. He cried until his eyes burned. He cried until he fell asleep. Kaicen was in his new apartment. He had just taken a shower. He was in his room, lying on the bed, when his phone rang.

She sobbed on Jesse's shoulder, taking deep breaths as she tried to compose herself. He was hushing her down, pulling K closer to him as he ran his palms up and down her back. After a few minutes, K was able to finally stop crying. "It's - it's nothing, baby. I'm alright now, don't worry." She pulled away from Jesse and wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. "Why were you crying?" He asked, tucking some stray hair behind her ear. Jesse could tell that K was totally upset. He had never seen her cry like that.

I blush again, recalling the Black Pack Alpha's response when I ask the same question. “Why are you telling me this?” “I learned from a good friend of mine to tell my mate everything.” My body swirls with arousal as I think back to how his deep commanding voice has invoked submission and desire in me. “Is it normal to cry when you feel too sexually aroused?” I raise a question, abruptly remembering my watery eyes when he pressed me against his noticeable bulge. Katarina's eyes widen with surprise, and she pauses for a moment before bursting into laughter. “Oh, Lana, you're killing me with these questions!” she exclaims between giggles.

"I want to know the real Kaia—the one no one else sees." I twirl my plastic spoon through the vanilla ice cream, thinking. There are so many secrets I carry, so many pieces of myself I keep hidden. But one truth feels safe enough to share. "I never really cry." Lewis frowns. "What do you mean?" "I get sad easily," I explain, looking down at my ice cream. "But before the tears ever fall, I always feel a little better. I wipe them away and move on. It's like my body won't let me break down completely."

Banner was too stunned to speak, “you built it with your blood, sweat and tears---” “Oh, for fuck’s sake I don’t cry.” How ironic, Kai tried to smile with a gentle sniff, sucking back his tears in, “just do as I say.” I heard his voice melting into soft bubbles of tears and ache as he hid his face from me, peering down, thinking I’d never get it that he’s crying. “I'm not staying here---” “Nancy will be here, since… since you are a terrible cook,” Kai, trying too hard to make me smile, but to no avail.
