And as if the situation wasn’t complicated enough, there’s Kane. Kane is the kind of guy who walks into a room and immediately changes the air pressure. He’s charming in that dangerous way, smooth voice, perfect hair, eyes that feel like they’re trying to read your mind. He’s also Julian’s right-hand man, which automatically makes him a power player in this company. And for some reason, lately, he’s been… interested in me.

Kane. Tall. Lean. Black coat open over a dark shirt, sleeves rolled to show forearms corded with muscle and ink—more serpents, twisting up toward his elbows. Hair black and messy, falling over eyes so pale they looked almost silver in the morning light. He didn’t smile. He didn’t need to. The air around him felt colder, heavier, like gravity bent toward him. Dario spoke first. Voice calm. Professional. “Kane wanted to deliver the congratulations in person.”

Kane had been gone two whole years, travelling the world or some crap, we all knew it was a mate hunt really, at 21 he was still yet to find her. Kane and Kash were incredibly similar, so similar in fact that they'd often been mistaken for twins by anyone that didn't already know them. Both had fluffy caramel hair like Auntie Cece and dark brown eyes like Uncle Mac along with his fairly muscular form, yet stood a few inches taller at 6ft 7.

Jason calmly spoke to Kane. “Mister Sky, you are right. I made a mistake. Your medical arts are truly mystical, and I had been an ignorant fool back then.” Kane spoke sincerely, and his previous ego was completely shattered. He knew that even Silas had held Jason in high regards, he had even less leverage to work with. Moreover, the lesson he was taught this time was enough to keep him on his toes. Knowing that Jason’s medical abilities are mystical, he could be easily blinded, just as easily as turning mute. “Gentlemen, have you eaten yet? How about I buy you a meal?” Kane spoke cautiously.

Stop fighting me, you won’t win. Oh, I forgot how beautiful he was. Kane was 6’5” tall and made of lean muscle. His hair is a beautiful blonde color with big flowy curls, and he wears it a little long, but he keeps it kept. His eyes are almond-shaped and a light green color. He has long, thick, black eyelashes. He has a thin beard that he keeps trimmed up tight. His lips are full, and they make the perfect heart shape when he presses them together. His jawline is chiseled to perfection. Under those clothes he is covered in tattoos. I sat in my chair staring at four beautiful men, and they were all mine.

“You carry authority like a shield you think no one can break.” Patrick kept his jaw locked. Kane stepped closer. “Control isn’t inherited. It’s earned. From the ground up.” “Through obedience?” Patrick asked. “Through understanding where your power breaks,” Kane said. “Only then can you rebuild it.” Kane lifted his hand again. Patrick resisted the urge to flinch. “Hold.” He froze. Kane walked around him, slow and quiet, watching for tremors, slips, cracks. Patrick held still, fighting the instinct to track Kane’s movements. His muscles screamed. Kane stopped behind him.

They sat in silence for a minute in which Sayan and Indrani snuggled closer and Kane fidgeted with a copy of the Canneti Dwan. There on the first page was the picture of the Power Plant Engineer and his stacks of stoners being loaded in a peacekeepers truck. Kane suddenly felt for his pocket and jumped. “What is it?” screeched Indrani. Kane looked at her and said nothing. He rummaged in his coat pocket deeper. His butcher’s knife was missing.

KATRINA I know I should be thinking of an escape plan, which I am, but watching those three fight was amusing. Kane dived in to ‘save’ the day but Cannon was getting the ‘glory’. Cannon was already dressed in a black tuxedo, and so was Kane, except Kane had a black rose tucked in his breast pocket. Kane didn’t look like he was very comfortable in it and his azure eyes were on me. “Quit acting like a pup, Ian,” Kane said smirking, with his eyes still on me.

Kai scolded. I lowered my head in shame. “Then how?” I asked. “Kane’s power works in mysterious ways, no one knows exactly how it works, sometimes it even surprises Kane,” “He’s one of the most powerful chieftains to walk these lands,” Kai explains. “The goddess chose Kane for a reason, and I will follow my brother to death and back,” Kai said. I nodded my head as I listened to Kai as he tried to explain this to me. “I don’t know how he skipped the mating rituals, All I Know is
