Karla’s pov The door opened quietly, and Alaric entered with the healer. She was a woman in her late forties who had kind eyes, but a no-nonsense expression. She wore a white coat that seemed to project an air of authority, but the gentle way she smiled at me undermined it. She walked up to the bed with a clipboard. “How are we feeling today, Karla?” she asked quietly. I glanced at her briefly before my eyes shifted to Alaric, who stood silently by the door.
