When he finished, he set the cup back on the table and immediately reached for his fork again. As fast as he ate, Valerie was surprised the man could even taste his food. “He loves to have fun and hates structured hours. Probably why the career of landlord suits him so well. He’s free most of the time to get into trouble.” “Oh?” Valerie had started to lift her fork to her mouth but paused at Keith’s comment. “And what kind of trouble does he get into?”

Kendra took hold of my hand and pulled me away, exclaiming, “You’re insane, you know that?" I pulled her hand to stop her and said, “I need answers.” “About?” She looked at me with a confused expression. “Dane, why does he keep saving me?” “Let’s continue our conversation in my room,” she said as she pulled me along with her. After we entered the room, Kendra pushed me in and shut the door. “I can’t explain why he’s defending you. That’s something he needs to tell you himself. However, I can disclose that he has only done so for one other person, his mate.”

"And his mistress?" I finally meet his eyes. "Danica Kayser has no official title. She should stay in her lane." Old Keith hums in reply. Then he sips his tea again. "She has a loud presence for someone without a title." "She does." I agreed. "But that says more about the ears willing to listen than the voice speaking." He watches me carefully after that. Like he is trying to see if I am being honest or not. Then without preamble, he ask me another question again.

All he needs to do is to introduce himself and try to become friends with her again. "Since you can't remember me, I will introduce myself again. So listen carefully." He said. Then, he stands up straight and looked at Rhianne. "I am Keith Tristan Lancester. As you know, I am Dr. Calvin's younger brother." Keith secretly praised himself thinking that he made a good introduction of himself. He does not look nervous just like how he introduced himself in front of Rhianne before. As he waited for Rhianne to introduce herself too, Keith was surprised to see her running away from him to go inside their house.

If you can’t remember how to be a man, remember how to be quiet.” Damon’s smile twitched—mockery, then uncertainty, then a calculation he masked too slowly. “Or what?” he said, but there was a new edge to it, a man who had expected a scene and been handed a boundary instead. “Or you will meet consequences,” Keith said, and there was nothing performative in it. “Not because I’m loud. Because I’m patient.”

“Devious bitch. Have you no respect, no decency? You don't deserve the grace the royal family has gifted you.” He spits at me, and Keith surprises me by taking a step towards him, a rumble emanating from his chest. He's defending me, like he still cares. “Stand down, Dane,” Keith's eyes narrow in challenge. “I don't take orders from you,” Dane hisses. Dane looks like he might try to break the warrior's hold, but Lilith 's voice halts his movement.

Keith finally caught up to him, making himself fully visible to Dylan's eyes. Keith was no different from how he was last time. He was still very handsome, with his long black hair tied back and dressed in the usual noble men's clothing. A linen shirt, black pants and a pair of black boots. Keith bowed. "It's been a year and a few months," he cracked a smirk. "And it's true..." Keith looked around, "Where are you going?" Dylan also looked around, "Well… I'm going to my quarters." "Oh what a coincidence!"

I warned, yet he held me back and asked the same question. He continued the exact action, to a point, I nudged him away, in a fit of rage "I told you to leave me alone right". (Angered) "Why!! Why should I?". (Keith inquired but continued talking, after reading the expression on my face). He says, "perhaps, are you angry because of what happened to David?, Do you feel sad about that?". Keith had no atom of emotion as to what happened, nothing apart of having a devious sense of accomplishment for killing his entire family out of wealth.
